Project Description
FingerLakes Community College – Renovation and Expansion at Muller Field Station

PROJECT INFORMATION
Nichols Construction Team is proud to serve as General Contractor for the transformative renovation and expansion of Muller Field Station, a vital hub for environmental education and research operated by Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC). Nestled at the south end of Honeoye Lake, this 48-acre site is a living laboratory of forested trails, wetland ecosystems, and immersive learning opportunities.
In partnership with Plan Architectural Studio and under the leadership of LeChase Construction as General Manager, this nearly $4 million project is designed to elevate the station’s accessibility, capacity, and impact.
Key features of this expansion include:
- A 24-person, handicap-accessible bunkhouse to support overnight learning experiences
- A new bus turnaround loop for safe and efficient student transportation
- Expanded parking to welcome more FLCC students, SUNY affiliates, researchers, educators, and community partners
Nichols Construction Team is honored to be a part of this forward-thinking initiative, with Associate Todd McMillan leading as Project Manager and Associate Ray Hillabush overseeing site operations as Superintendent. This expansion not only honors the legacy of Emil and Florence Muller – whose vision turned a family retreat into a regional treasure – but also paves the way for future generations of environmental stewards to study, explore, and thrive.
