Nichols Construction Team Sales Associate

The primary objective of the Nichols Construction Team Sales Associate (SA) is to generate leads and introductions to profitable project opportunities.

This position will require that the SA be a highly motivated self-starter and shall be at ease networking and cold-calling. This is an entry level position – and although experience in the construction industry is desirable – it is not required. The SA will become fully informed of the type of projects that are most desired by NCT.

The SA will be fully supported by NCT in identifying opportunities for follow-up. The SA will also generate their own leads by reviewing public project posting publishers, reading business periodicals and any other ethical means to gain introductions and opportunities. The SA will enjoy the benefit of representing a firm with 37 years of experience and a reputation for quality and integrity.

The SA will work closely with NCT Partners, Project Managers and Estimators to review leads and opportunities identified by the SA. The SA will attend weekly business development meetings.

The SA position is fully commissioned/draw based compensation package. The SA will be provided a salary each month of $2,500 that will be subtracted from earned commissions. The SA will be provided an expense allowance of $500 per month to use for approved purchases. The compensation will be based on projects with a value of $500K or more. Commissions will be excluded for previously identified prospects and NCT customers over the last 5 years.

Commission Schedule is as follows:
.5% for all Sales to be paid upon signing of contract by Nichols Construction Team
.25% for all sales to be paid upon completion of project where NCT realized GP in excess of 6%

Commercial Mason
Concrete Demolition, Footers, Foundations, Curbs, Sidewalks, Stairs, Poured Walls, Tilt Up and Masonry Block and Brick Construction.

Requirements:

  • Read blueprints for all aspect of concrete and masonry work.
  • Prepare stone base.
  • Set the forms that hold concrete in place
  • Install reinforcing rebar or mesh wire to strengthen the concrete
  • Place, spread, level, and smooth concrete, using a trowel, float, or screed
  • Mold expansion joints and edges
  • Monitor curing (hardening) to ensure a durable, smooth, and uniform finish
  • Requires the use of own hand tools and variety of basic power tools.
  • Must possess strong work ethic, positive attitude, strong skills and has a attention to detail mindset

Project Manager/Estimator

Commercial General Contractor in Rochester, is looking for a Construction Estimator/Project Manager for a Direct Hire Position!

Position Summary:

Responsible for preparing quality pre-construction and construction estimates including; order of magnitude estimates, conceptual budgets, design development budgets, construction bid document estimates, etc.  Responsible for leadership of the planning and execution of all construction activities necessary to execute one or more projects.

Estimating Responsibilities:

  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Perform site visits to ensure accuracy of estimates.
  • Maintain proper documentation for each estimate including establishing and updating project estimate books.
  • Participate in interviews and presentations and constructability reviews as needed.

 Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Overall Project Leadership including:
  • Conduct pre-submission project site inspection with estimators and subcontractors.
  • Assist as required in the overall development and coordination of design and construction documents, menus, estimates, specifications and bid packages through record drawings.
  • Review and interpret plans and specifications.  Resolve unforeseen site conditions, detect unstated assumptions, contract discrepancies, and other design/construction conflict problems with all stakeholders.
  • Create project schedule.
  • Qualification, selection and contract negotiations/vendor services and materials needed.
  • Develop, approve and document all change orders to owner/client.
  • Monitor and control long term scheduling.
  • Initiate and lead project meetings.
  • Responsible for projects’ financial management and performance.
  • Work closely with the assigned Superintendent in establishing effective lines of communication to achieve all project objectives, 
  • Responsible for compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for obtaining the Certificate of Occupancy within the projected timeline.
  • Respond to any warranty issues.
  • Conduct formal post-project evaluation.
  • Achieve superlative Customer Satisfaction rating for Team performance.
  • Remain the ongoing Customer Relationship Manager.
