Momentum Environmental Services

Purpose-Built Facility in Bath, NY

Nichols Construction Team is proud to have partnered with Momentum Environmental Services on multiple facility developments in Bath, NY, each designed to expand their vital environmental remediation, waste management, and operational capabilities across the Southern Tier of New York State.

Together, these three projects represent a strategic investment in infrastructure that strengthens Momentum Environmental Services’ ability to deliver on their mission of sustainability, remediation, and environmental stewardship.

Nichols Construction Team is proud to be their partner in delivering the facilities that make this work possible.

Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Facility

This new 80’ x 200’ x 25’ Pre-Engineered Metal Building was developed to support Momentum Environmental’s water treatment, remediation, spill response, and hazardous material management operations. Prior to this project, these services were only available in Albany and Syracuse. By establishing a localized Bath facility, Momentum can now respond more efficiently, reducing transportation costs and improving regional capacity.

Key Features:

  • R-20 insulated sidewalls and R-40 insulated ceilings with white vinyl-faced interiors
  • Dedicated clean room and water treatment operations on the east side
  • Bulk tank area for effluent and contaminated materials on the west side
  • Elevated concrete containment walls (2’ and 4’) for NYS DEC compliance
  • Fire suppression system, overhead and partition doors, commercial glass systems, and custom entry canopy

Strategically located on a long-vacant IDA site unused for over four decades, the project not only revitalizes underutilized land but is also projected to create 10–15 new jobs, supporting both blue- and white-collar sectors.

Dry Sorting Facility

To further support environmental remediation, Nichols Construction Team delivered a 60’ x 96’ x 16’ Dry Sorting Facility – a robust, uninsulated pole barn-style structure designed for heavy-duty operational use.

Key Features:

  • 22’ total eave height for maximum clearance
  • 6’ tall x 10” thick concrete push wall for skid steer durability
  • 4’ frost wall with insulation to prevent frost infiltration
  • 8” thick concrete slab with 2-degree pitch toward overhead doors for efficient drainage

This facility is purpose-built for soil remediation – drying and cleaning materials for safe, sustainable reuse – directly supporting Momentum’s mission of environmental responsibility.

Custom Scale House

Nichols Construction Team also completed a 10’ x 15’ purpose-built Scale House, integrating advanced technology to enhance Momentum’s operations.

Key Features:

  • R-19 insulated walls and R-40 insulated ceiling
  • Durable metal liner panel finishes for long-term performance
  • Built on a monolithic slab with 6” thick floor and 24” x 24” thickened edge
  • Foundation pads installed for integrated truck scale systems

The facility improves efficiency by delivering live truck weight data via Bluetooth technology, instantly transmitting information to office personnel. This innovation streamlines communication, reduces delays, and improves accuracy across operations.
