Matt Szczepanski joined Nichols Construction Team in 2021 as a Summer Intern, where he began his journey into Project Management, in between his Junior and Senior year at Alfred State College.  However, his love of the industry started well before that.

Matt recalls that he always loved working with his hands and learning the ins and outs of any sort of equipment growing up.  He enjoyed tinkering with things around the house and quickly realized that he wanted to turn this creativity into a career.

Matt chose to enter the construction industry while in high school, working during his breaks for a local GC where he began learning the trades.  He worked as a carpenter in both commercial and residential settings.  This solidified his interest, and therefore he began his studies at MCC and went on to Alfred State College to earn his bachelor’s degree in construction management.  While at Alfred, Matt remained on the Dean’s List and was a member of Sigma Lambda Chi National Honors Society (an honor society specific to Construction Management).

Matt has without a doubt taken quickly to his role.  His meticulous attention to detail, coupled with excellent communication skills and commitment to excellence serves both his Team and customers alike. In a short time, Matt has already left his mark on many Nichols Teams Projects, including but not limited to; Fattey Beer, Erie Station Liquor, Rochling, Bob Johnson Mini, Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts, as well as various RIT projects.

Outside of work, Matt competes and has been very successful in target archery competitions around the state of NY.  He also enjoys the outdoors, in particularly  fishing and camping.
